Can you use an IBM laptop, standing on circumference, a bit than flat?

For space, it would be easier if I stood my computer on it's side, instead of the foot. Would that affect the pc? I get an IBM for $10 at a yard public sale, and it works OK. It's got a newer operating system, and my prehistoric PC is windows ME. The IBM is 2000 professional.

Other than self unstable, I dont see any problems as long as you dont cover the fans
