Computer Air Cooling Issues?

Lately, I've be having problems near my computer overheating the video cards.



I have an AMD Athlon64 4000+ running on an ABIT KN8 SLI motherboard. 2GB of GeIL PC3200 RAM, two non-RAIDed 74GB WD Raptors (C:\ for my OS and G:\ for my Games), two EVGA 256MB GeForce 7900 GS KOs contained by SLI, an Audigy 2 ZS sound card, and adjectives powered by a 450W Ultra Modular PSU. My case is a Thermaltake Black Armor valise (the one designed for air cooling).



My CPU hovers surrounded by the 110-120 fahrenheit range and is fine, even when overclocked to 2.6GHz. However, my two video cards appear to be the problem. Normally, when under nouns, they're in the 130-140 fahrenheit scope. But occassionally they go up to 150s fahrenheit, at which point my PC freezes and won't reboot until they cool.



Can anyone recommend a appropriate aftermarket cooler for them? Either an air cooler w/ follower (preferably a vent to the rear similar to the high terminate 7800s or 8800s) or a self-contained liquid setup for the GPUs is fine.

i would recommend any buying a couple of nice 120mm case fan, or getting water cooling for your system. or purely buy a nice fan from the store and own it stand next to your shield and cool it.

Compiling computers.?

Well, I hold an old Acer aspire and a Compaq presario.



The videocard on the compaq is shot, so i'm going to try and move the harddrive and disc players from the presario to the aspire. Not too difficult. Everything is plugged in where on earth it should be, both hard drives connected, boot it up, Equipment Configuration Error Pops up. When it comes up beside the configuration, I don't think it recognize either drive or the compact disc player, because if I skip it, it tells me to insert system disk even though Windows 98 is already on both drives.



Did I Miss a step, or what?



EDIT: oh, i forgot I also took the AMD K6-2 processor from the more powerful computer and installed it on the motherboard for the Acer. That is what cause the equipment configuration error, but it should still work.

ok because the hardware is from a different computer , windows wont work on it , unless you reformat adjectives the drives, and reinstall the os, since windows looks at the current configuration to try , and run on , its faster to reformatt, and reinstall next try to fix all the hardware issues your goin to loop up with once you do bring back into the drives. if you can even get it to do it .. flush , and rinse reinstall

I checked HP's site for you. You hold 2 SATA connectors on your motherboard. I'm assuming at least one is human being used by the hard drive. The other may be human being used by the current CD or DVD drive within your system. If you're upgrading, get one that have a SATA connector. If you're planning on adding an other drive then I'm not sure. Check your connections inside your computer. See what you own available.

I called compaq and they told me you enjoy to make your own disc we dont enjoy them so they told me what to do, so i dont have a code on the disc. I think it might be the window code that should be on your computer it self. If its a laptop then its usually on the bottom on a green type sticker article. If its a desktop then it can be on the rear legs or top depending on who it is. Look for it. It should be green colored and should say WINDOWS XP blah blah next to couple of bar code.

If you're doing a verbs install, all files will be deltyed. If you're newly doing an upgrade like from XP to vista, next it shouldn't be replaced. I say you should be protection up from a backup program or burning it to a cd or dvd if you have deeply of files.

The wrong memory usually cause the computer to beep, and not work until it is removed. It also burns the memory out usually. Are you proverb you took your card out of the computer, into the store, and asked for one exactly the same? Or did somebody share you what they thought you needed, you wrote it down, and went and asked for that? Just guessing, but computers don't usually smoke from memory card change, theres isn't a lot of voltage or current to wreak it unless something gets shorted out. Was the computer bad and unplugged when you put the memory in?

I a moment ago got a fresh motherboard and it won't turn on. The fan spins for a second, but that's adjectives. I accidentally plugged the CPU fan surrounded by the wrong spot. Celeron Upgrade?

Hey adjectives, about 3 or so months ago I upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 2GB, thinking that my overall PC acting out would improve dramatically. So far, it have improved somewhat, but not nearly ample in my view. I still can't run many programs at one time, or even a few for that business without my CPU usage spiking to 100%.



So, after realize that my RAM was not the problem, and nearby were definitely no viruses on my PC, I blamed my processor: an Intel Celeron D.



Should I upgrade, and if yes, what are the best option for under $200.

I own two cdrom drives on my computer, sometimes one of them wont show up in my computer... not sure why... but... it's really annoying when i'm trying to burn something... Like right very soon... Anyone have any suggestions or comments why I might not know how to see one of my drives? I've already tried rebooting 3 times... Sigh...

At first thought, you may want to check your bios settings to make sure the computer is if truth be told recognizing the drive. If it is, i would check jersey and cable settings on the drive itself. Those are usually the main problems when a drive isn't one recognized.

Optical Drives usually don't have drivers. Also, not a soul come into your house and changed the jumpers on your drives so the Master Slave hypothesis is no good. right click on the desk top...select arrange icon by... the uncheck lock web items on desktop, That should do it

Depends on your operating system. But similar to you said, in the properties, after right clicking on the desktop, in that is a color option lower than the desktop tab, and under the appearance tab, moderately a few more options, including a them, which may be what your refering to.
What I did, be I made the Desktop background color a flotilla blue, and then I set the Selected Items color, like color and made the text of the Selected Items color white.

No, I'm sorry but you can't. Once the tricky drive is formatted then you are roughly starting over. Hopefully you still have to program software to be capable of reinstall them.

If you have the system resources (decent power supply 400watt to 650 watt) ample ram (for Win XP I suggest not smaller amount than 1gb but 2gb for having adjectives 3 installed at once) and if you have ample room in the valise and enough cable to power them, I see no damage in it at adjectives. I have 2 DVD burners contained by my computer and often use both at once.

You can if they will fit in your tower suitcase, and if you have two IDE cable sockets on the motherboard.

If you have two tricky drives installed and they are both IDE (and not SATA) then you can singular install two other IDE devices. If this is the case, afterwards I would remove the DVD Reader ROM and insert the light scribe DVD burner part.

Don't worry. Windows Defender have a database with programs that Microsoft considers that are locked or Unsafe. If it says Unclassified it resources that the program has not be yet evaluated and Windows Defender doesn't know it is nontoxic or not.

I enjoy a HP Presario a1412n desktop PC. It has 4 SATA connectors and 1 IDE connector on the MOBO. The DVD RW be originally connected to the IDE port and the HD was connected to one of the SATA ports. My homes electricity go on and off several times and immediately I can't access my HD connected to the SATA port or boot up the PC even in Safe mode. Ive tried a different HD beside similar results. I then disconnected the DVD RW from the IDE port and connected an HD to it, the PC presently boots. The issue now is that I own no place to connect my DVDRW to. I have two connectors on the IDE cable, can the DVD RW be connected to the second connector of the cable the HD is connected to?

I am not quite sure what you are asking. If you are asking if you can dual boot Linux and Windows - the answer is as expected yes you can.

There are two ways to approach running Linux. You can run the 'live' CD which does not install the operating system to your rock-hard drive. There is a decrease within performance using this method - but you go and get to keep the complete hard drive formatted contained by NTFS.



The other method is to install to the hard drive to dual boot. You will enjoy to partition your complex drive - Linux has a different database sytem then Windows.

No, do not mix bus speeds on RAM--you're asking for trouble.
Depends what computer you're using. Almost definately the answer is no. Computers cannot provide satisfactory power to run more power hungry memory than it was originally designed to use, and so you would ending up shorting the whole circuits. Very costly.

That I haven't tried yet. Go into BIOS (if you know what that is to say good, except don't go nearby unless you know what changes you are doing) and see if it can be booted up from the USB drive.

You can however do this, instigate up the external drive, remove the internal CD-ROM drive, connect the cable to the 40-pin Secondary IDE port (that is if your mobo (motherboard), change the boot remedy to boot from CD (or DVD drive), insert the compact disc, save the option (remember that when you are done, to put all of the option backs as they be originally) (get a piece of paper and write down what you did ) and reboot. It'll ask you to press a button as to boot from the disc.

If you run a 32 bit operation system similar to Windows XP then the processor will only just run in 32 bit mode and it will be impeccably compatible. If you run a 64 bit OS then nearby might be some incompatibilities because of drivers and such.

Well first of adjectives, is it a floppy disk or a CD/DVD? if it's a floppy then I would suggest that you evacuate it sit for maybe a week or so to dry out the inside formerly inserting it into your drive. Have you installed the drivers for your soundcard? Even when you move it to a different PCI slot you still own to install/update the driver/software for that particular piece of hardware. Write down the model # of your soundcard and later go to the manufacturer website and look for support and downloads for your product. After you download and install the latest drivers maintain a backup copy for the next time you call for to re-install or if you wish to provide the soundcard at a later date..

Yes you can use distilled water within your TT setup, that's exactly what I use in mine. I own it pure (no additives) and have notice lower temps with it than any a bit expensive additives such as Fluid XP+ EXTreme and PC ice. As of where on earth you can buy it most pharmacy's carry distilled dampen.



Edit. You can add 3 parts distilled river, 1 part white vinegar or use any of the fine products Danger Den offer.

You probaly can. First of adjectives though I caution you going on for cracking open the travel case if you don't have any clue what you'd be looking for. I own only worked beside Desktops but any experience helps. I don't know if the two processors are ofe matching socket type or if that would be relevant but if they are not alike there is no luck of the upgrade working. Also more powerful processors put out more heat. Even if the sockets are correct laptops are vastly likely to overheat and cooling is frozen to increase. If and when you do swap processors be sure to have that roast transfering goo.

You might try the PC Wizard application from www.cpuid.com to find out more details on the hardware in any piece of equipment you posses. It would also display info from builtin sensors on your motherboard for tracking heat build-up. Finnally PC Wizard can run several different benchmarks that might see you to tell how much any upgrade help. Good luck.

I played through S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on my unusual computer (ridiculous system specs omitted), and even I had to turn effects stale to get playable framerates. If you haven't corrupted them you should be able to walk through Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs. Updates are usually at the bottom of the list. It is NOT advisable since most Windows Updates are protection patches. If you own accepted adjectives updates sent, some were driver change. I always select download and guide installation. I then look at what is recommended and block what I don't want to transform.

Actually for XP adjectives you need is 233MHZ and 64MB RAM, though if you hold less than that 750MHZ and 128MB RAM, it would be a bleak idea to upgrade to XP. Vista, a computer from 1998 will definatly not run Vista.

yes you can when you buy a unusual card you just turn stale your computer place the card in the right socket, consequently when you turn on your computer you go to bios and build the primary video adapter pci xpress then when window loads it will say unknown hardware detected then you install the drivers that come next to the card on a cd and it will automatically delete the old drivers

yes you can,just put a floppy drive and format it and check the box <create start up disk> since you format.
