You probaly can. First of adjectives though I caution you going on for cracking open the travel case if you don't have any clue what you'd be looking for. I own only worked beside Desktops but any experience helps. I don't know if the two processors are ofe matching socket type or if that would be relevant but if they are not alike there is no luck of the upgrade working. Also more powerful processors put out more heat. Even if the sockets are correct laptops are vastly likely to overheat and cooling is frozen to increase. If and when you do swap processors be sure to have that roast transfering goo.

You might try the PC Wizard application from www.cpuid.com to find out more details on the hardware in any piece of equipment you posses. It would also display info from builtin sensors on your motherboard for tracking heat build-up. Finnally PC Wizard can run several different benchmarks that might see you to tell how much any upgrade help. Good luck.
You will have to give the name Dell and ask them.
It depends, but it is very possible. You should know that Dell will disavow you if you disassemble your laptop, however. Just make sure it have the right pin count. Also, I would recommend picking up some double sided tape, and sticking the screw to a strip of it as a handy way to hang on to from losing them.
