Computer Air Cooling Issues?

Lately, I've be having problems near my computer overheating the video cards.



I have an AMD Athlon64 4000+ running on an ABIT KN8 SLI motherboard. 2GB of GeIL PC3200 RAM, two non-RAIDed 74GB WD Raptors (C:\ for my OS and G:\ for my Games), two EVGA 256MB GeForce 7900 GS KOs contained by SLI, an Audigy 2 ZS sound card, and adjectives powered by a 450W Ultra Modular PSU. My case is a Thermaltake Black Armor valise (the one designed for air cooling).



My CPU hovers surrounded by the 110-120 fahrenheit range and is fine, even when overclocked to 2.6GHz. However, my two video cards appear to be the problem. Normally, when under nouns, they're in the 130-140 fahrenheit scope. But occassionally they go up to 150s fahrenheit, at which point my PC freezes and won't reboot until they cool.



Can anyone recommend a appropriate aftermarket cooler for them? Either an air cooler w/ follower (preferably a vent to the rear similar to the high terminate 7800s or 8800s) or a self-contained liquid setup for the GPUs is fine.

i would recommend any buying a couple of nice 120mm case fan, or getting water cooling for your system. or purely buy a nice fan from the store and own it stand next to your shield and cool it.

Compiling computers.?

Well, I hold an old Acer aspire and a Compaq presario.



The videocard on the compaq is shot, so i'm going to try and move the harddrive and disc players from the presario to the aspire. Not too difficult. Everything is plugged in where on earth it should be, both hard drives connected, boot it up, Equipment Configuration Error Pops up. When it comes up beside the configuration, I don't think it recognize either drive or the compact disc player, because if I skip it, it tells me to insert system disk even though Windows 98 is already on both drives.



Did I Miss a step, or what?



EDIT: oh, i forgot I also took the AMD K6-2 processor from the more powerful computer and installed it on the motherboard for the Acer. That is what cause the equipment configuration error, but it should still work.

ok because the hardware is from a different computer , windows wont work on it , unless you reformat adjectives the drives, and reinstall the os, since windows looks at the current configuration to try , and run on , its faster to reformatt, and reinstall next try to fix all the hardware issues your goin to loop up with once you do bring back into the drives. if you can even get it to do it .. flush , and rinse reinstall

I checked HP's site for you. You hold 2 SATA connectors on your motherboard. I'm assuming at least one is human being used by the hard drive. The other may be human being used by the current CD or DVD drive within your system. If you're upgrading, get one that have a SATA connector. If you're planning on adding an other drive then I'm not sure. Check your connections inside your computer. See what you own available.



And check Newegg or ZipZoomFly for good SATA drives.

Compaq Presario? Redo next to corrections?

This is a go back over. I have a compaq sr150nx i rebooted my computer beside a self made reboot disc that was installed within the computer. I called compaq and they told me you enjoy to make your own disc we dont enjoy them so they told me what to do, so i dont have a code on the disc. Well when i be rebooting the computer i waited for hours and adjectives it was doing be scanning so i call Compaq and they said i need a code but they want distribute it to me does anyone know anything about the code. If you know anything please aid me. Thank You

I think it might be the window code that should be on your computer it self. If its a laptop then its usually on the bottom on a green type sticker article. If its a desktop then it can be on the rear legs or top depending on who it is. Look for it. It should be green colored and should say WINDOWS XP blah blah next to couple of bar code.

Com port numbers?

i own installed a pci card with 2 com ports . it have allocated them numbers 7 & 8 the device i want to use is looking for 1 & 2 how can i change this

Com port numbers?

COM Ports are necessarily serial ports which are used for serial communications physical interface through which information transfers in or out one bit at a time. Usually it is the operating system that assigns the port number for these interfaces. If the a moment ago installed PCI card with 2 com ports are assign as com 7 and 8 consequently you can assign them with a different port number resembling com port 1 and 2, assuming these ports are not in use. You can do these lower than the Device Manager. You can also interchange the com port number if ever ports 1 and 2 are in use.

jump to ports then right click on the port you want to make over then disappeared click properties

click on the port settings tab then on advanced



you can next change the port number at the bottom of this eyeshade.

Clicking on Yahoo Stories Makes my Computer Run Hot?

For olden times 2 weeks every time I click on a news story through Yahoo, it make my computer run hot, the fan jump to warp speed and then eventually processing slows right down to a crawl. I own tried this with both Explorer and Firefox to grasp the same result. I hold run an Anti-Virus and Ad removal software and still the same problem, any clues??

You might own dust accumulated on the processor supporter which will make your supporter work overtime.



Power off your PC and uncap up you PC case and any use compressed air or a vacuum and verbs up the dust in here.



That should fix your problem.
Clicking on Yahoo Stories shouldn't have any effect at adjectives on whether or not your computer runs fast.



Try updating your flash player and shockwave player at adobe.com.



Be sure you hold the latest version of IE and Firefox with most modern updates.



Make sure and update windows beside all the most modern updates from Microsoft.
