Im upgrading CPUs from an amd 64 3500+ to an X2 4200+ but am i suppose to update my bios beforehand i install the new CPU or after? Thanks within advance for any relief. Also what do you folks think of this upgrade contained by CPU. Good idea fruitless idea?
BIOS update past or After?
beforehand so that it will recognize the spanking new cpu when you reboot the computer reboot with the ancient processor in previously changing to the different one
I would do it before you install the exotic processor. the current BIOS accepts your 3500 and the exotic BIOS will also. After you flash the BIOS then put surrounded by your new processor and you will be golden. Just breed sure you back up the weak BIOS first in baggage the new one turns out to be a bit flaky.
