Bios error beep?

your best option is to look for the motherboard booklet online on its vendors website. however try removing everythis from the motherboard such as memory, hd and cd cable, and any cards, and try to turn it on is it a different beep? later try adding one chip of memory and vga card except built-in then the computer should boot, if it beep try another memory chip and or vga card. HTH
could be the mb battery or the memory module
Need to know motherboard type & BIOS factory owner. There is no standard. For some it will be bad memory, no video card, unpromising PSU. If it gets as far as beep you can be reasonably sure the BIOS itself is OK. Pull everything out that isn't needed, travel down to one stick of RAM, only the video card. Disconnect floppy & not easy drives. If it doesn't work under those conditions, forget it.
