Ok, I bought a cheap ipod earbud splitter for resembling $10, I decided to see if by plugging it into my computer (where the speaker connector usually go) I could use my 2 sets of speakers at once or merely have one on. One set of the speakers come with the computer and the other I bought. I hold a Gateway computer, so obviously I hold Gateway speakers, as well as some Altec Lansing speakers. If I hook this up permanetly, will it overload my audio board or produce some damage? Thanks-if you answer please roll your source.
By using an ipod earbud splitter to connect 2 sets of speakers to my computer, will that produce mischief?
No, you shouldn't cause any defacement. But you will not get quad nouns by doing this. You will just hold two left and two right channel. You might also look into hooking your computer up to your audio system's receiver if you are really looking to craft the walls shake.
No, it will not overload the computer.
The headphone jacks on the back of the computer just output a very small amount of power. That amount is restricted by the nouns card itself.
Plugging two devices into it just splits that power between two sets of speakers. If they are both passively powered, the volume will be lower than if you only have one set plugged within.
Do I really need a source?
1/8 headphone jacks are standardized, they adjectives work the same. They would not get headphone jack splitters if it would damage the component.
