Can I enjoy both a IDE not easy drive and a SATA knotty drive on same computer?

Hey, I hold a 120GB IDE hard drive on my current computer and I required to add a 2nd intricate drive. My mobo is the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and it has connectors for both SATA and IDE. Should I catch a SATA drive as the 2nd one? Would I be able to boot XP from the IDE as I currently hold it but also be able to access and store notes on the SATA drive at the same time? Meaning, I would want to be capable of use both while in XP which be installed on the IDE

Also, would it be advisable to upgrade RAM when adding a 2nd easier said than done drive? I was thinking just about upping it to 2GB from 1..

Can I enjoy both a IDE not easy drive and a SATA knotty drive on same computer?

Yes, you can use the SATA disk when Windows is installed in the IDE drive. But surrounded by some IDE disks, you would need to set a jersey which says IDE master next to non-IDE compatible slave. Most probably, this would not be needed; you connect both disks and boot up the system, it would be fine.

A RAM upgrade is always advisable, since it boosts your system gig. Go get adjectives the RAM you can afford.
yes u can

both disks can be used simult. in any OS

you dont obligation to add ne more RAM to do this
Yes, it'll work fine. Adding more RAM for this explanation won't make any difference...and is not needed.

UPDATE:

Master/slave settings are not applicable to SATA drives.
Should not be a problem. I would make the SATA the primary drive since you will return with better speeds for that drive and use the ATA for back up.

A see of RAM should be sufficient but a short time more never hurts especially if you plan to move to Vista at any time.

Can I find this laptop upgraded to window xp or even vista?

I enjoy a very antiquated computer probly from around sometime from 1998 to 2000. I just checked to see if it still works and I found it is contained by somewhat good condition and is running window 98. Please advise me on what I should do beside it to get it to (somewhat) current morning standards if possible.

Can I find this laptop upgraded to window xp or even vista?

Actually for XP adjectives you need is 233MHZ and 64MB RAM, though if you hold less than that 750MHZ and 128MB RAM, it would be a bleak idea to upgrade to XP. Vista, a computer from 1998 will definatly not run Vista.
no u will definately not know how to run vista on it. it might be able to run xp though
If this PC have a processor with a speed of 750 MHz or better and have at least 128 megs of hit, it will run Windows XP.

Vista is another question

I doubt that it will run Vista. I hold to say no.

You can catch an OEM copy of Windows XP Home Edition for around a hundred bucks.

Can i attain a spanish interpretation of window xp medium center 2005 edition??

Can i attain a spanish interpretation of window xp medium center 2005 edition??

you guys ask for too much sometimes. do a google flush y buscas lo que quieres
Using Regional and Language Options in Control Panel, you can install multiple language on your computer, such as Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, and Western European languages (French, Spanish, German, and various others). You can choose which one you want to use when you create a document. Windows then make the character set for that expression available, so you can start writing.

Both WordPad and Notepad let you create documents contained by other languages, but a word processing program may include other features, such as spell checkers, to minister to you write documents in multiple language.

If you send your document to someone else, the receiver must also have alike languages installed within order to read or expurgate the file.

Good Luck!!
I devise you just download the spanish dialect pack, but it should be included.

When you first install Windows XP on your PC, it will ask what language you want.

I specifically remember seeing French as an chance, but probably only because English and French are so close within the alphabet.

Can I see SpeedStep and 64-bit processing?

I enjoy a Dell Optiplex 320 with an Intel Pentium D and within the Bios it's got SpeedStep disabled (what does this speedstep do?) and it's get an option for 64 bit. Can I see it since I'd like to use a 64Bit application near my current version of window? XP PRO

Can I see SpeedStep and 64-bit processing?

Speedstep is a built-in application for Intel processors to vary the wattage usage. If you're loading the cpu,(processor), down beside a game let say, the wattage usage go up,(heat values also), but at idle the cpu doesn't want the full wattage requirement, so the voltage is 'stepped down' inside the processor. WinXP Home, and Pro have this element built in, and do not want the motherboard's BIOS to enable it. There are 32bit WinXP Pro OSes, and 64bit WinXP OSes, you cannot breed a 32bit OS into a 64bit by flipping a 'switch' inside BIOS. This is a whole different program,(64bit). This phase is in your performance of BIOS so that should you install a 64bit Operating System, you can enable BIOS to authorize it.
XP will support speedstep, unless you have XP 64bit OS, you cant use 64bit applications.
Speedstep is markedly useful for prolonging battery-operated life contained by laptops. It simply downclocks and undervolts the processor to reduce power consumption.

64 bit OS is best for servers. If you want your device drivers nightmare to initiate, go ahead and try 64 bit OS.

Can I disable my computers integrated graphics solution contained by the BIOS and install a unswerving video card ?

yes

(you prolly dont even own to disable, itll more than likely pick up the contemporary card)
YES absolutly@!@!
Normally, yes. Nearly all systems next to on-board video allow for this option. Some require a MB jersey moved, some a BIOS change.

Jim
yes you can when you buy a unusual card you just turn stale your computer place the card in the right socket, consequently when you turn on your computer you go to bios and build the primary video adapter pci xpress then when window loads it will say unknown hardware detected then you install the drivers that come next to the card on a cd and it will automatically delete the old drivers
Yes I done exactly that, the integrated GFX on mine be so crappy I did it just few days after buying it.

My xp install is on the hardrive, i be given no xp disks when i bought the computer.

Thanks :)

Can i copy my xp install?

If you use Ghost or some similar product, then it will engineer a complete copy of the hard drive.

This will not brand name it installable, but just a sector by sector copy.
Yes, you should be capable of ghost the unyielding drive to a new drive, stop using the weak drive until you are ready for the migration though.

You may want to embezzle it out of the tower, place it in a closure lock bag, and place it within the freezer. This will prolong the failure.
I totally agree next to JMKyler3. The only entry I would do add is to craft sue to remove as much air out of the fastener lock and to double-bag the drive.
I would use Acronis True Image and copy everything on to a new unyielding drive. If this is the only progress to your system it may be permitted under Windows solid advantage. You will hold to check the end user agreement.

PS you don't entail to freeze the HD, or install as a slave if it has not already spoilt.
